Ford suffered a sprained upper body in the team’s last game and could miss up to four weeks of action, TSN reported Sunday.

The 24-year-old quarterback, who is playing his first season in the Canadian Football League, has taken the starting job from his colleague Nick Arbuckle. The latter had a nightmarish start to the season, committing three times as many interceptions (six) as he passed touchdowns (two).

Taylor Cornelius will start the game at Percival-Molson Stadium behind Elks center, while Arbuckle will serve as his backup, head coach Chris Jones confirmed.

The new pilot of the Sparrows, Danny Maciocia, will thus have a golden chance to win a first match at the helm of the team against Elks (1-4) weakened.
