At Sri Lankapower is wavering and the president has announced that he will resign after leaving his palace. The demonstrators also went to the residence of the Sri Lankan Prime Minister.

In Colombo, Sri Lanka, the images are impressive. A whole crowd gathered in front of the doors of the palace of the president before entering the enclosure. Faced with this popular uprising, President Gotabaya Rajapaksa had no choice but to flee his palace. Earlier, violent protests took place in the capital sri lankan. The population is at the end of its rope and wants help from the government to fight against the economic crisis which is strongly affecting Sri Lanka.

The demonstrators also invaded the place occupied by the Prime Minister of the country. It was after these clashes that one of the members of power pronounced a speech. “The President informed me and asked me to announce to the country that he would step down on Wednesday, July 13 to ensure a peaceful transition of power”said a man on television. The population still occupies the President’s palace. The latter would still be in Sri Lanka and he would be protected by the army.
