France Bleu Périgord relocates its emissions in the four corners of Périgord Tuesday mornings and Thursday afternoons. Yesterday we were at Mimosthe Festival des Arts du Gesture, which invested Perigueux. It’s an event iconic of the city which launches the summer season. Of the original creations, wanderings, acrobatics…: it’s all in the gesture!
Several places, more than a hundred proposals…for everyone!

Horizon: the flagship show at the Saint-Front Cathedral with artists perched on the roofs
Horizon is a acrobatic ballet which takes place every evening at 8:30 p.m. (except Sunday at 7 p.m.). For this acrobatic ballet created especially for the Cathedral of Périgureux, Raphaelle Boitel reunited 11 artists from all over France (Circassians, free runners and urban acrobats). The show takes place at inside the cathedral then on the byzantine roofs of the cathedral. And none of the artists are attached!

4 cartoonists sketch the Festival (and the festival-goers)
On the village of Mimos, Esplanade Badinter in Périgueuxevery noon, we present the work of four accomplice illustrators who crunch the Festival during the opening aperitif. Everyone passes under the pencils of these artists who each have their own style! Lolmedefor example, is accustomed to everyday drawing which he has been sketching in notebooks since entering theSchool of Decorative Arts in 1985.

A (also) musical village
The village Mimos is located on the Esplanade Badinter. A little thirsty, a big hunger? A food truck is present on site. There is also the shop to keep a souvenir of your visit to Mimos 2022 : t-shirts, water bottles, posters…. And above all, when the evening has come we play the cicadas which will sing (all summer long) with concerts that the Sans Réserve (the Périgueux current music scene) proposed. And it’s free.

Young people involved behind the scenes of the Festival
The association The path warns marginalization and facilitates integration for young people who may be in social trouble. How ? By getting their hands dirty on the event. This is the case with a team on the Festival Mimos. 12 young people are present at the event. We interviewed some of them, including Benjamin who is 19 years old.
