“On your marks, get set, bake!“Every Thursday, fans of the Best pastry chef are delighted to find a new episode of the new Les Professionnels season. If the host Marie Portolano, wife of Grégoire Ludig, was not a pro in the field before replacing Julia Vignali, she is doing quite well! It must be said that she has some great traveling companions between Cyril Lignac and the great Pierre Hermé. The latter has actually joined the program to guide candidates and provide the dose of advice they need to succeed in their career. Pierre Hermé gave his whole life to pastry and it is said that the latter gave it back to him rather well.
In 2013, Pierre Hermé left for Corsica to take part in Art’é Gustu, an event organized around gastronomy. At the same time, the one who was crowned best pastry chef in the world had no idea that his life was going to take a new turn. There, he meets Valérie Franceschi, for whom love at first sight is inevitable. Only problem, the two are respectively married. But in love nothing is impossible.
“In three months, I left Corsica, my husband and my job“revealed Valérie Franceschi in the pages of Paris Match by evoking his meeting with Pierre Hermé. Words supported by the pastry chef himself, surprised at such a turnaround: “Valérie is the woman of my life! I would never have believed that such a beautiful and strong love story could happen to me at my age.“And yet… Pierre and Valérie love each other so much that, icing on the cake, they decide to get married!
The ceremony takes place on July 1, 2017 in Corsica, the bride’s native island, at the 5-star Casadelmar hotel located in Porto-Vecchio. No party in small groups. To celebrate the greatness and intensity of their love, Pierre Hermé and Valérie Franceschi invites cooking stars including Hélène Darroze, Jean-François Piège and his wife Elodie, Christophe and Delphine Michalak or even Julie Andrieu, queen of Julie’s notebooks. A happy union of which they have just celebrated the 5 years. Happy birthday to them!
