Three young students appeared this Thursday before the criminal court of Grenoble for violence in meetings. The Attorney General requires against them 70 hours of community service and a fine of 1,000 euros if this work is not carried out. The deliberation will be delivered on August 31.
One of the defendants, aged 18, admitted to having struck to one of the victims and apologized during the hearing. The others, a young woman and a young man, admit that there were provocations from both sides but no blows from them.
Back to the facts
The facts date back to April 20, in downtown Grenoble. Three student members of UNI, a reputable right-wing university association, accuse them of hitting them when leaving a bar for their militant activities since the young people suspected of violence are identified as far-left by the victims. One of the victims, Hanane Mansouri, the head of the Young Republicans of Isère, receives blows in the face, her photo will also circulate on social networks after this fight, and will be prescribed 6 days of ITT (total incapacity for work).
UNI members say they were followed as soon as the bars closed by this group and therefore took out their phones to “defend themselves”. On the side of the defendants, it is precisely estimated that it is because they were filmed that the situation degenerated.
