Soon a new boss at the head of EDF. The Ministry of the Economy announced, Thursday, July 7, to launch “now” the succession process for EDF CEO Jean-Bernard Lévy, in order to “rapidly” implement the renationalisation of the energy company desired by the government.

“While large-scale projects will be launched by the company in the coming months, the State and Jean-Bernard Lévy have agreed to immediately launch the process of succession of the latter at the head of EDF”, said Bercy. The mandate of Jean-Bernard Levy should end no later than March 18, 2023.

“The new Chairman and CEO of EDF may be appointed before this deadline so that the new manager is quickly able to implement the strategic and industrial projects announced by the President of the Republic”underlined Bercy, citing “notably the launch of the construction program for six EPR 2 nuclear reactors and EDF’s contribution to the accelerated development of renewable energies”.
