François Fillon is again facing the judges during the afternoon of Monday, November 15. Sentenced to prison at first instance, the former minister appealed.

In March 2020, stunned by the conviction, François Fillon and his wife Pénélope left without a word: 5 years in prison including 2 years closed and 10 years of ineligibility for the politician, 3 years in prison for his wife. The couple immediately appealed. The case erupted on January 27, 2017, with the publication of an article in the chained Duck, which revealed that Pénélope Fillon had received more than 600,000 euros for parliamentary assistance work almost inexistant.

The revelations then continue: the couple’s children were also employed as parliamentary assistants between 2005 and 2007 for 100,000 euros raw, and Pénélope Fillon was paid 3,500 euros per month for two literary notes published in La Revue des Deux Mondes. The national financial prosecutor is then seized, and Francois Fillon indicted, six weeks before the first round of the presidential elections. Joined Sunday November 14, his lawyer, Me. Levy, affirms that about fifty testimonies always demonstrate the reality of this job. The defense will remain on its line during the appeal trial, that of a political machination aimed at dismissing the candidate Fillon.
