It’s the smallest score, but it’s enough. England, winner of Austria (1-0), successfully entered the Euro 2022, Wednesday July 6, competition which it organizes. At kick-off, the pressure was palpable in the mythical enclosure of Old Trafford, in Manchester, but the doubts quickly flew away thanks to the striker of Arsenal Beth Meade. The wing scored the only goal of the game with a clever lob on the Austrian goalkeeper in the 17th minute.

Expectations are high for the English who played in front of nearly 69,000 people, a record for a Women’s Euro match. The English will have to settle their lack of realism if they want to go to the end of the tournament which promises to be very open. The “Three Lionesses” have an appointment with Norway on Monday for a challenge that should be more serious.
