The organization’s president, Alexandra Chyczij, has written to Prime Minister Justin Trudeau asking him to lead a global campaign to kick Russia out of the forum of nations with the world’s largest economies.

Mme Chyczij claimed that Russia is using the G20 as a platform to lie about the reasons for its invasion of Ukraine.

She also said that keeping Russia at the table would make it difficult for Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky to attend the G20 summit in Bali, Indonesia next November as a guest. .

Canadian Foreign Minister Melanie Joly will attend the G20 foreign ministers’ meeting in Indonesia this week, and her Russian counterpart Sergei Lavrov is also expected to be there.

When asked if she would shake hands with Mr Lavrov, Mme Joly replied that she would not, but said she planned to use the opportunity to expose Russian lies about the invasion.
