Two days after the discovery of two people shot dead in Pouyastruc, the search continued this Wednesday afternoon, to find a 34-year-old Béarnais, the alleged shooter, confirmed the public prosecutor of Tarbes. A man considered “dangerous”. The police are concentrating on the Jaca sector, where the alleged shooter’s motorcycle was found, and on the departments of Pyrénées-Atlantiques and Hautes-Pyrénées.
The public prosecutor of Tarbes confirmed information from the Spanish press according to which during exchanges with him, the man said he wanted to commit suicide. The wanted man is the former companion of the deceased young woman. He is a sports shooter, who had weapons at home. A former reservist of the 35th parachute artillery regiment, the 34-year-old man is now a worker at Safran (ex-Turboméca).
A “drama linked to a context of separation”
This Monday, at the end of the day, a couple was discovered dead, naked, at the home of the man, in the village of Pouyastruc. Both were teachers in a Desaix college in Tarbes. He, Gabriel, 55, was a PE teacher. She, Aurélie, 32, was a French teacher. The young woman was separated from the father of her two children aged 2 and 5, and in the process of divorce. The two victims would have got closer a few weeks ago during a school trip. For the Tarbes prosecutor, it is therefore a “drama linked to a context of separation”.
The man was found deceased in his bathroom. The woman was in the driveway, outside, she didn’t die instantly.
