The city of Meurthe-et-Moselle welcomes this Thursday, July 7, the arrival of the 6th stage of the Big Loop, the longest of this edition: 219.9 km between Binche (Belgium) and Longwy.   • Arrival of the publicity caravan in Longwy at 3:45 p.m.
  • Arrival of the first runners in Longwy estimated between 5:15 p.m. and 5:45 p.m.

The race ends with the coast of the nuns. The winner will cross the line at Place Darche.

The mayor of Longwy, Jean-Marc Fournel, explained to France Bleu Lorraine that the mileage of the race had more than doubled compared to the 2017 edition, going from 2.5 to 5.5 km. The constraints are therefore greater for the inhabitants, but so is the show.

The streets used by the publicity caravan and by the peloton are privatized and closed to traffic from noon on Thursday July 7 until the end of the race.

The city of Longwy specifies that on Thursday July 7 “the crèche, nursery and primary schools, colleges and high schools will be closed”. Because yes, it’s not quite the holidays. The municipality created a dedicated email address questions from residents about the Tour: [email protected].

To celebrate the Tour, the town of Longwy is decorated in the colors of the Tour de France jerseys.
