Injured, Girondin Pierre-Ambroise Bosse forfeited for the World Athletics Championships

World champion in the 800 meters in 2017, the runner from Gujan-Mestras Pierre-Ambroise Bosse will not be not on the track for the world championships, this month of July in Eugene, Oregon (United States). However, he had achieved the time requested by the French athletics federation, running 1’44″54, on June 18 during the Paris meeting. He finally announced his withdrawal this Sunday in the newspaper L’Equipe after a hamstring injury contracted the day before at the meeting in Nancy.

We learned that I actually had a partial disinsertion of the right tendon of the hamstring. The injury above is total disintegration and that meant end of career. I don’t want to risk the end of my career on that.” says Bosse. “We made the decision not to do Eugene, it wouldn’t have made any sense.” he said, also questioning a possible participation in the European Championships in Munich, which will then take place from August 11 to 21.

The Talencais Gabriel Tual, who had beaten Bosse at the last French championshipswill therefore represent the Gironde on the 800 meters. He will be accompanied on the plane by three members of the Stade Bordelais Athlétisme: Melvin Raffin, qualified in the triple jump, as well as Ryan Zézé and Pablo Matéo, in the 4x100m relay team.
