The Minister of Economy and Finance, Bruno Le Maire, proposed on Monday July 4 on France Inter several measures which will be integrated into the law on purchasing power which will be presented by the end of the week.
Firstly, the minister proposes aid for low-income earners who own cars. The aid will be for employees with a car and earning below 1,500, 1,600 or even 1,800 euros. “It is not defined, I put this proposal on the table”explains the one who remains Minister of Economy and Finance. “It is a compensation that would concern all those who work and who are obliged to take their cars. It must be concentrated on those who have low or average incomes.”

The Minister also announced that he wanted food promotions to be able to reach a 50% discount in distribution. Today, these promotions cannot exceed 34% off. “I propose that we raise this threshold to 50% so that there are discounted prices for those who need them.”

Bruno Le Maire also announces that the loan guaranteed by the State is extended until the end of 2022. This PGE was to stop this summer.

Finally, the Minister mentioned a strengthening of price controls in the food sector, sector by sector. “We will not let the profiteers of the inflationary crisis pass”he assured. “We are going to carry out checks by entire sector, to see if from the factory to the place of distribution, via transport or storage, revolting margins are made. Those who profit from it will be sanctioned.”
