(Gaspé) A collision between a van and a car occurred Sunday afternoon, in Gaspé, Gaspésie. Among the three people injured in the accident, a 52-year-old man unfortunately succumbed to his injuries.

Emergency services were called around 3:30 p.m. for a collision involving two vehicles at the intersection of rue Fontenelle and boulevard de Saint-Majorique. Following the impact, the two vehicles ended up in the ditch.
The two people in the van suffered minor injuries and were taken to a hospital.
According to initial information, the driver of the car who was alone in his vehicle would have found himself on rue Fontenelle and he would have entered boulevard de Saint-Majorique while the van with two people on board was traveling on this boulevard. in a northerly direction, explained the spokesperson for the Sûreté du Québec (SQ), Nicolas Scholtus.
The road was closed to traffic so that a collision investigation officer could establish the causes and circumstances of the accident. Detours were erected for local traffic, but at 6:15 p.m. the road was reopened to traffic.
