“Finally” ! This is undoubtedly what Amel Bent exclaimed a few hours ago when he learned that his companion, Patrick Antonelli, was going to be able to return to her. Indeed, he had been in prison since the beginning of May when he had already faced justice for driving license trafficking in his driving school in Neuilly-sur-Seine. However, it was not this case that forced him to go to prison.
Although declared guilty, the Nanterre court had sentenced him to three years in prison, two of which were suspended but with an adjustment of the sentence under an electronic bracelet. This allowed him to avoid the prison box before having to answer for his actions for two other cases. In particular that of scamming state aid paid during the COVID-19 pandemic which took him behind bars at the beginning of May. Finally, a few hours ago, The Parisian announced the good news for Amel Bent and the man of her life.
Released but on one condition
The Versailles Court of Appeal decided to “release” him or rather, to sentence him to eight months in prison with the wearing of an electronic bracelet. A decision that relieves his lawyer, but he still sees it as proof that “the detention had no justification”. “My client was acquitted on almost all the offences”, he finally concluded. In addition to this, he will be prohibited from exercising an activity related to surveillance and guarding for three years. In fact, he will no longer be able to ensure the safety of his companion.
A security that he provided when he did not have the necessary approval. Despite everything, this is very good news for Patrick Antonelli and especially Amel Bent. The family will be able to meet again and the young mother will be able to be accompanied by her better half to raise the youngest who has just added to the family.
