Prime Minister Élisabeth Borne had an appointment on Friday July 1 with President Emmanuel Macron to discuss the cabinet reshuffle, which is announced for the beginning of next week.
Targeted by an investigation for attempted rape, the Minister of Solidarity Damien Abad is weakened, as is the Secretary of State Chrysoula Zacharopoulou, accused of sexual violence. On Friday July 1, Prime Minister Élisabeth Borne presented President Emmanuel Macron with the conclusions of her meetings with the leaders of the parliamentary groups. She proposed names to integrate the future government team.
The three ministers beaten (Amélie de Montchalin, Brigitte Bourguignon and Justine Benin) during the legislative elections will have to be replaced. Some portfolios are still missing, such as housing, transport or digital. The reshuffle could take place as early as Monday, July 4. It will then be followed by a Council of Ministers.
