Violent storms swept away, Thursday, June 30, the Eurockéennes de Belfort. The festival-goers thought they were celebrating, but the weather decided otherwise. Friday was dedicated to repairing the damage.

Their tent was torn down, and their musical evening cancelled. Festival-goers pack their bags, at the Eurockéennes de Belfort (Territoire de Belfort), Friday July 1st. “We give up. Everyone slept in the water, in trouble”, says one of them. Thursday, June 30, the approximately 4,000 spectators present on the site experienced a few minutes of panic, trying as best they could to hold back their temptations torn by the wind.

A group of campers took refuge under a canvas, while hail fell on them. Seven people were injured. One of them suffers from multiple fractures. The campsite, with a capacity of 20,000 people, was badly affected. All day Friday, the teams cleared the site, to allow a reopening as soon as possible. Several structures were damaged, such as the marquee at the entrance to the festival, or the main stage. The storm weakened many facilities. A security commission has yet to validate the reopening of the festival.
