The cement manufacturer Lafarge buys the Mathers quarry in Saint-Eustache, which is the largest producer of crushed stones in Quebec.
Lafarge also buys Pavage St-Eustache from the Mathers group, which is a major producer of road surfaces from recycled concrete aggregates and asphalt.
With this acquisition, Lafarge Canada, which already operates the Saint-Constant cement plant in southern Quebec, becomes one of the largest suppliers of stone aggregates and road surfacing in Eastern Canada.

Together, the two companies acquired by Lafarge Canada from the Mathers family, Carrière Saint-Eustache and Pavage St-Eustache, employ 80 people.
