Olivier, 42 years old and logistics manager, as well as Delphine, 39 years old and photographer, are the happy parents of five children: Selena (16 years old), Gabriel (13 years old) – both from a first marriage of the beautiful – Paul (8 years old), Louise (7 years old) and Alba (17 months). The small family that lives in Isère seems to be fulfilled. But behind these beautiful smiles hides a drama.
Before becoming a photographer, Delphine Colas was a Spanish teacher. After a sad event, she chose to change her life. “If I decided to drop everything and resign it’s because I had a kind of awareness about the fragility of life“, she explains then in front of the cameras of the One. And to confide that in reality, the little Alba should have had a twin brother…”except that life decided otherwise, and unfortunately our little boy was born, and did not live“, she adds.
Since then, the couple have bonded over the memories of their son. “We also had the chance to hug our baby, to have him with us, to have our two babies at birth“, declares the pretty brunette. And Delphine and Olivier are not the only ones to be marked by the death of the baby: Alba “will always carry within her the strength of her brother“, according to them. The couple also indicates that they live for this child. “We are eight in our clan“, they assure.
Delphine Colas, still very touched, explains that she has kept sweet memories of her baby “thanks to the picture“.”It’s also something that made me realize the importance of capturing moments and I find that the job of photographer is incredible, it’s not an ‘unimportant’ job, it’s a brilliant job. We give people memories that last a lifetime“, she concludes. By immortalizing the happiness of others, the young mother then pays a beautiful tribute to her son.
