Wimbledon is the tournament of traditions. Among they find queuing to get the last tickets still on sale. Some spend several days there. It is even an art on the other side of the Channel.

At the gates of youWimbledon Championship (United Kingdom), sextends a serpentine of several hundred meters where every day, nearly 5,000 people are patient hoping to get a ticket. “We’ve been here for 1h15, it’s not bad, isn’t it?”launches a man. Some have been there for several days, because the arrivals will be the first served. Others have even pitched their tents. “It’s been two days now. The only problem is you can’t take a shower, but I don’t care as long as I see Nadal.”jokes a woman.

The tradition has existed since the 1920s, a symbol of popular enthusiasm for the tournament. Today it is more organized. People wait in a park and stewards ensure the smooth running of operations. A fan has been coming every year for 30 years. He has planned everything to wait. “We have a deckchair that you can unfold to lie down. We also have two chairs”he explains. The atmosphere is fair play and festive. It is therefore forbidden to overtake, and the waiting order is numbered on a ticket. The code of conduct must be followed to the letter.
