Biarritz very active during the off-season. A few weeks before finding and facing the Pro D2, the squad of the Red and White is reinforced with new players. They are currently eight to join the ranks of the BOPB. The latest: the Georgian right pillar of the Bordeaux-Bègles Union, Lasha Tabidze, until 2024. And for the other recruits, here is the list:
Lasha Tabidze

He is a player who has had a complicated season who arrives at Aguiléra. Lasha Tabidze (1.85 m; 117 kg) the right pillar who will blow 25 spring on July 4, has only played three games with Bordeaux-Bègles, after an ankle injury at the start of the season. He has five caps with the Lelos. He has the advantage of being Jiff and signed for two years.
Thomas Sauveterre

Thomas Sauveterre (1.85 m; 115 kg) was notably trained in Montpellier from 2013 to 2016 before joining Carcassonne for six years. Last season, he played 27 games, for 22 starts (4 tries). Son of former rugby player Jean-Jacques Sauveterre, he comes to compensate for the departure of Lucas Peyresblanques (Stade Français), Romain Ruffenach (Section Paloise) and François Da Ros (retirement). He signed a contract until 2024.
Killian Taofifenua

Little brother of Sébastien and Romain, Killian Taofifenua (1.78 m; 104 kg) has signed up until 2024 in Aguiléra. This season, he has only played two small games with Usap, all as a substitute, and intends to find playing time in Pro D2.
Adrian Motoc

The Romanian second line began his professional career with Racing 92 from 2017 to 2018 before joining Agen for two years then Massy. In 2021, he signed for Aurillac before finally heading to Biarritz. He signed up for two seasons. Adrian Motoc played 26 games with the Romanian national team.
Nafi Ma’afu

At 24, the third or second American line (2m01, 110 kg) has the precious Jiff status. It has been used five times this season by Usap (including two sheets in the Challenge Cup). This recruit will compensate for the departure of Kévin Gimeno.
Charlie Francoz

Charlie Francoz began his career at Stade Français from 2013 to 2016 before joining La Rochelle for a year. On loan at Aurillac for the 2020/2021 season, he returned to Stade Français for the 2021/2022 season. He will now play for Biarritz Olympique. He signed up for two seasons. Charlie Francoz is the U20 world champion with the France team.
Simon Augry

Passed by the Poitevin rugby stadium, by the regional pole of Niort, Simon Augry (1.92 m; 105 kg) evolved with Montauban in the position of 3rd line since 2018. Since his arrival at the USM, the 3rd line passed by the Younger Toulouse stadium has made a place for itself in the Tarn-et-Garonne workforce. Last season, he took part in 19 league games, including 17 as a starter, for two tries.
Joe Tomane

A nice shot for the soundtrack? Australian international center Joe Tomane (32 years old, 17 caps from 2012 to 2015) will play in Aguiléra next season. Since the 2020-2021 season, Tomane had been playing for the Ricoh Black Rams in Japan. He only played six games (for only four starts) in two seasons. Before, Australia had played two years in Montpellier, then two years in Leinster. He had started his professional career in rugby union with the Brumbies, the Canberra rugby team (Australia).
Clement Perusin

The young Clément Pérusin started rugby at RS Mauvezin in the Gers before joining Auch in 2020. He signed with the BO until 2025.
