According to our information, an exceptional commission must meet at the end of the week to examine the requests for recognition in a state of natural disaster of the municipalities of Dordogne affected by the bad weather of June 20th.

14 municipalities of Ribéracois have, for the moment, filed files in the prefecture. It is not the prefecture of the Dordogne which decides on the recognition of natural disaster but the Interministerial Natural Disaster Commission at the Ministry of the Interior takes this decision.
Météo France must qualify the phenomenon
The weather phenomenon has not yet been qualified by Météo France, which must submit its reports to the Ministry. This qualification is eagerly awaited because it will determine the management of the damage. For example, hail alone does not fall within the definition of a state of natural disaster. Hail depends on the insurance scheme.
