“Joli monde” by Kaky, an album with the world of childhood as a red thread

Cradled by Mozart, raised with Elvis, fascinated by Brel, influenced by Bob Dylan… his musical education is unlike any other. He spent his childhood in choirs and at 11, he was offered his first guitar. The appointment with his destiny is made: it will be music.

Reserved, at the limits of secrecy, Kaky relates on paper the wrong roads and the difficulty of finding your place. At the age of 20, he received a recorder with which he practiced “field recording”, a practice which consists of finding inspiration in recording environmental sounds immediate. From this experience are born the titles “Lundi matin”, “La tête plein”, “Rideau Danse”… which will lead him to the first part of Thérapie Taxi, and will appear on the EP “Room404”.

Kaky’s universe then flirts with rap, pop and French chanson. But other desires are not long in imposing themselves on him. The young artist refocuses and goes draw on his first lovespianos and guitars in mind, to develop the suite.

The result today is this balance of electronic sounds and acoustic warmth that nourishes “Joli Monde”. A first album placed under the sign of childhoodhis paradise lost and the reality of the world that replaces it.
