A couple stronger than the obstacles covered
In ten years of relationship, Pierre Ménès and his partner Mélissa have been faced with multiple obstacles due in particular to health problems faced by the 58-year-old journalist. In 2016, while suffering from soda disease, Pierre Ménès had to undergo a double liver and kidney transplant. After the operation, the sports journalist had lost 40 kilos. Grateful to his partner who supported him during this ordeal, Pierre Ménès said in March 2017: “I want to live my life and take advantage of my young companion who is twenty-three years younger than me and who has shown such maturity, while it still takes incredible moral and physical strength. Without Mélissa , I am convinced that I would no longer be here.” More recently, in April 2022, Pierre Ménès had been hospitalized at the Necker hospital for “drug intolerance” as he revealed on his Twitter account.
For several months, Pierre Ménès was faced with accusations of harassment and sexual assault. Facts that he has denied on several occasions, in particular to the newspaper The Parisian : “It’s been six months that the suspicion is on me. And six months that I am silent. And there, I resume for a year. During this time, slander and lies can continue to spread, on social networks and elsewhere. Professionally, it hurts me, because my image is tarnished.” The journalist was also expected at the Paris Court of Justice but his state of health decided otherwise.
Whatever, despite the storms and thanks to his wife Mélissa, Pierre Ménès can be happy to have a shoulder to count on.
