Flames shut out Senators 4-0

Dan Vladar turned back 27 shots en route to his first NHL shutout, as the Calgary Flames ended a three-game losing streak by beating the Ottawa Senators 4-0 on Sunday.

Vladar, 24, was on his ninth start in the NHL.

Elias Lindholm had a goal and an assist, while Andrew Mangiapane, Matthew Tkachuk and Nikita Zadorov also hit the target for the Flames. Sean Monahan collected two assists.

Anton Forsberg stopped 29 shots in goal for the Senators.

Once again, the Senators have lost a soldier to COVID-19. Drake Batherson became the 10e Senators player to be subject to NHL protocol related to COVID-19. The Senators broke the news less than an hour before the start of the game and Andrew Agozzino was added to the roster.

Batherson has joined Austin Watson, Nick Holden, Josh Brown, Connor Brown, Dylan Gambrell, Matt Murray, Victor Mete, Alex Formenton and Nikita Zaitsev on the sidelines. Associate coach Jack Capuano is also on the sidelines.
