When we think of the star Academy, and to its many winners, the names of Jenifer, Nolwenn Leroy, Elodie Frégé or Grégory Lemarchal stand out at the top of the list. There have, however, been nine seasons of the show. At the end of 2012, the program had indeed made a discreet return to the small screen, not on TF1 but on NRJ 12. In February 2013, it was Laurène Bouvion who won the victory, after twelve weeks of competition, facing the other finalist of the show, Zayra.
It’s like we don’t exist
While star Academy is preparing to return to television, Laurène Bouvion considers herself to be the great forgotten in the history of the show. “When I hear about eight seasons of Star Academy, it hurts meshe explains to the newspaper The Parisian. To have won the show is my greatest pride. And there, it’s as if we were erasing ours, as if we hadn’t existed.“If her victory made less noise than another, it is also because the young singer never released the album which should have followed her victory. The artist had indeed signed a contract with AZ , a Universal label, but she was not satisfied with what was offered to her artistically and preferred to withdraw from the project.
Laurène Bouvion joined the star Academy “in a pinch, without being really prepared“, with her companion Louis Meyel. She hopes, ten years later, to have a small role to play in the 10th season of the show… without much hope.”As a viewer, I’m super happy it’s coming back, she admits. As a former winner, I was too… but I quickly realized that there was no chance that I would be invited. Our course does not correspond to what some had imagined. I haven’t released an album, but that’s okay. It’s a program that has brought me so many good things. And everything we live is thanks to the show, which was a huge springboard. Now, I could be wrong… and it would be a pleasure to finally discover the castle of Dammarie-les-Lys !”
