Since his tragic death from cystic fibrosis in 2007, Grégory Lemarchal has continued his fight. A fight led today by the family who works hard so that people with the same disease as the prodigy of the song can live with it and believe in their dreams. His parents Laurence and Pierre, as well as his sister Leslie, founded the Grégory Lemarchal association, which supports the fight against cystic fibrosis. On June 16, the inauguration of the Maison Grégory Lemarchal took place in Rueil-Malmaison (Hauts-de-Seine). On this occasion, the father of the former winner of Star Academy made very moving revelations by confiding the words held by the youngster some time before his death on April 30. “One of his last words was to a friend by his bedside, we were there and he said: ‘Above all, tell them never to give up. He was always thinking of others, that was the message he wanted to convey to all those who suffer from this disease, do not forbid yourself anything, as long as it is possible“, he let know.
“The Maison Grégory Lemarchal is a place of resources, exchanges, sharing, a springboard for projecting oneself into a more serene future”, explained the parents of Grégory Lemarchal. The building will accommodate all patients affected by this disease which attacks the respiratory tract. Patients will find there professional “coaching”, image consulting, art therapy, theatre, sports adapted to their respiratory capacities. Activities also in the form of a nod to the singer’s courageous journey during his time at Star Academy. TF1 has also announced that the most famous of TV hooks will make a comeback at the start of the next school year. It will again be presented by Nikos Aliagas, very close to the deceased singer and present at the inauguration of the house in his honor.
