(Ottawa) Wearing a mask is no longer officially required in the Commons, House Speaker Anthony Rota said Friday, the day after the end of the parliamentary session.

In a written statement, he said the requirement ended, as scheduled, at 11:59 p.m. Thursday for anyone visiting “the premises of the House of Commons.”
“The health and safety of anyone entering the premises of the House of Commons remains a priority,” it read.
It is specified that masks will continue to be made available.
The business of the House of Commons was adjourned for a long summer break on Thursday afternoon.
At the beginning of the week, the vaccination obligation against COVID-19 for elected officials, employees and visitors ended. This stems from a motion adopted by unanimous consent among members.
