A first defendant will have an anti-reconciliation bracelet on his foot as soon as he is released on Friday, in Quebec. He will not be able to approach his victim, otherwise the emergency services will be alerted.

Yan Bédard, a 23-year-old man, has completed two-thirds of his sentence and will be released on Friday. However, the prosecution wanted to add a condition to his probation, that of wearing an anti-reconciliation bracelet (BAR) in order to protect the victim.
