Big National Day show June 24

After two years of pandemic and online celebrations, the Grand spectacle of Saint-Jean in Montreal is back on the Place des Festivals. Families and friends braved the rainy weather on Thursday evening and gathered in front of the stage, awaiting the kick-off, animated by a tangible excitement.

They were excited at the idea of a normality finally found. Feverish too, and above all, at the idea of seeing some thirty artists succeed each other on stage from 9 p.m. who will celebrate Quebec under the theme I love my language, in homage to the French language. We can count on the performances of Patrice Michaud, Alicia Moffet, Jay Scott, Sarahmée, Les Louanges, Fouki, Ariane Roy, Kathia Rock, Roxane Bruneau and Michel Pagliaro, with Pierre-Yves Lord hosting the evening.

For many, this annual get-together is as much a national holiday as it is a family one.

This is the case of Annie Latour, surrounded by her three daughters and her husband, who is delighted to be back this year with her family. “It’s good for morale to be able to see people, see shows in real life and to be able to sing, dance and get angry. We put the package! she says pointing to the flags of Quebec with which her children and herself were decorated. A few steps away, the youngest was jumping with excitement awaiting the arrival on stage of Roxane Bruno.

This show will kick off the Saint-Jean-Baptiste festivities that will continue tomorrow throughout Quebec.

It will be rebroadcast on ICI Radio-Canada Télé and TVA on June 24 at 8 p.m. and simultaneously on Cogeco Media’s music stations: 96.9 CKOI, the 5 stations Rythme, CIME and Planète. It will be available from June 25, on ICI Tou.tv and on TVA +.
