Eight new deaths linked to COVID-19 in Quebec

Quebec reports eight new deaths linked to COVID-19 on Wednesday and an increase of 43 hospitalizations. There are currently 1084 hospitalizations. Thirty-three people are in intensive care, down from two.

A total of 4,838 health care workers are absent for reasons related to COVID-19, such as preventive withdrawal or isolation.

The death toll now stands at 15,553.

The Ministry of Health reports 1,110 new cases, for a total of 1,081,138 since the start of the pandemic. However, the number of cases listed is not representative of the situation since access to screening centers is restricted to priority groups.

A total of 224,952 rapid tests have been self-reported so far on the government platform, including 185,195 positives. For the day on Tuesday, 493 tests were declared, including 436 positive.

As for vaccination, 4634 doses have been administered in the last 24 hours in Quebec.
