An escape attempt that could come out of a movie. A prisoner of Fresnes (Val-de-Marne) tried to escape on Sunday, November 14, Franceinfo learned from corroborating sources, information confirmed by the Ministry of Justice. An investigation has been opened for escape and association of terrorist criminals.
Incarcerated for four years after leaving with her family to Syria to join ISIS, the 31-year-old detainee managed to break through the wall of her cell. This is thanks to the prison’s motion detector, which indicates the presence of an intruder in the prison compound, which it has been spotted. She was caught by the guards at the bottom of the penitentiary as she was descended from her cell using tied sheets.
The establishment immediately had all cells in the women’s ward checked to make sure it was an isolated attempt. The Ministry of Justice recalls that 4.5 million euros of the 2022 budget are precisely planned for the complete security of the Fresnes area. This is the biggest operation of the 100 million euros security plan voted for next year.
