During the school holidays, many young people want to go on a language trip. For a long time, the UK was the preferred destination. But Brexit went through it and the formalities became more complicated. In a class in Colmar (Haut-Rhin), an English teacher makes the final checks before the big departure for Scotland. Since Brexit, students need a passport.

For one of the fathers, the steps to obtain a passport in time were more than complicated. “I did all the 31 communes of the Haut-Rhin which were equipped with the appropriate equipment. The only appointment available was in a commune an hour’s drive away”, he explains. If these college students are among the lucky ones, many establishments have, for their part, abandoned stays in the United Kingdom because of these formalities and the price of passports.
