According to ESPN’s Kevin Weekes, the Illinois organization has set its sights on Ryan Huska, who has been an assistant coach with the Calgary Flames since 2018-2019. Prior to joining the Flames, Huska coached the Alberta squad for four years.

And before that, he was the head coach of the Kelowna Rockets for seven seasons in the Western Junior Hockey League, including winning the Memorial Cup in 2009.

Chicago fired pilot Jeremy Colliton last campaign, which Derek King completed as interim chief instructor. The organization asked permission earlier this month for the Montreal Canadiens to discuss with assistant Richardson for the head coaching position.
