This is what he said Monday afternoon during a visit to Sherbrooke. Seventy-six homes have been evacuated in the past few days and about 200 people had to be evacuated, according to the Prime Minister.

“We know that someone who loses their house in a situation like that is entitled to $260,000; $210,000 for the house and $50,000 for the land. But we are going to see if it is necessary to improve the aid, ”said the Prime Minister.

“We also work with the mayor (of Saguenay), Julie Dufour, and with the Red Cross to make sure that we help everyone find housing, then that we help all the families financially, but just to tell you , we follow it from hour to hour, ”said François Legault, who must proceed, in the afternoon, to the official inauguration of the Kruger Products tissue paper plant, commissioned in 2021 in Sherbrooke.
