11:07 : Germany will take emergency measures to secure its supply in the face of recent cuts in Russian gas deliveries, notably involving increased use of coal. “To reduce gas consumption, less gas must be used to generate electricity. Instead, coal-fired power plants will have to be used more”, the economy ministry said in a statement. Coal is the energy that emits the most greenhouse gases, responsible for global warming.
