The event: Loud Lary Ajust
This is undoubtedly the most important legacy of the programmer Laurent Saulnier: the place he defended for hip-hop, at a time when the genre was still largely discredited. The opening night of the 2016 edition, with Alaclair Ensemble, Dead Obies, Loud Lary Ajust and Koriass, on the Place des Festivals, was described as audacious, even reckless, and yet will remain among his greatest hits. . That Loud Lary Ajust provides its end point to this 33e edition, the last of the last of the Mohicans after 23 years of music, is probably not innocent. After celebrating the 10e anniversary of his cult album gullywood at Club Soda two weeks ago, the trio park their blue Volvo on rue Jeanne-Mance.

Discovery: Ariane Roy, Thierry Larose and Lou-Adriane Cassidy
You will have read it here: this show with six hands and three hearts has the potential to become the kind of event of which you will say in a few years: I was there! Topped with the title The king, the rose and the lou[p]a nod to the meetings at the top between major artists of their time that were I saw the wolf, the fox, the lion (1974) and The wind, the sea, the rock (2003), the evening brings together the most exhilarating new Quebec rock songs. Last April, at Club Soda, Thierry Larose presented a perfectly ecstatic Montreal premiere, in front of a young crowd of fervent disciples, who sang with him each of the words of his first album, Cantalou. All that remains is to see who, between Thierry, Lou-Adriane and Ariane, is the Kevin Parent, the Éric Lapointe and the Daniel Boucher of their trio.
