Covid-19 figures jump in ten European countries. The European Agency is sounding the alarm. If France is spared for the moment, Germany displays 50,000 new cases in less than 24 hours.
In Austria, the new measure taken for the unvaccinated is unprecedented in Europe: they will be confined. Parliament has yet to give its approval, but the rule will come into force in two regions of the country. “We do not want to wait. We will act for schools, daycares, we want the vaccinated to find a normal life”, testifies Thomas Stelzer, governor of Upper Austria.
In the Netherlands, the entire population is affected by the measure. A curfew of at least three weeks for bars, restaurants and shops. On the evening of November 12, after the Prime Minister’s announcement, 200 demonstrators gathered outside the Justice Ministry to protest the restrictions. In the rest of Europe, the unvaccinated are in the sights of the new measures. In Norway, a third dose of vaccines will be offered to over 18s.
