Three days before the second round of the legislative elections, Friday June 17, each camp hopes to reach a number of seats of deputies to weigh in the National Assembly.

It’s a battle of numbers. Each political camp displays its objectives. To have an absolute majority in the National Assembly, it is necessary to obtain 289 seats of deputies. Projections promise between 265 and 305 seats for the presidential majority. Nothing is certain therefore and on the ground, the candidates campaign until the end, in particular Élisabeth Borne. For the Nudes, it is the threshold of 200 deputies which is targeted to influence the five-year term of Emmanuel Macron. Projections estimate 140 to 180 seats for Nupes.

On the Republican side, there are currently 103 seats. After having long been the main opposition group, they don’t should count only 60 to 80 seats. As for Marine Le Pen, she is aiming for 100 deputies. In reality, the National Rally could obtain 20 to 50 seats. Enough to form a group in the Assembly, which would be a first for the party since 1986. If no side obtains an absolute majority, the role of the National Assembly could become central for the next five years.
