Pimp’ Up, the Montpellier strat’up that refuses to waste quirky fruits and vegetables

“We realized that in France, more than half of food waste occurs upstream of stores, i.e. among producers and processors”, explains Manon Pagnucco, founder of Pimp’Up with Anaïs Lacombe, a classmate. Pimp’Up is “help for French producers and processors to promote everything that is refused by the traditional distribution channels, especially for aesthetic reasons”, she continues. And that’s how Pimp’Up was born in February 2021.

“We buy seasonal fruit and vegetables from them and then put together anti-waste baskets that we offer for sale and delivery, at a pick-up point or at home, to consumers”explains Manon Pagnucco. “You can choose your basket size, the frequency with which you want to receive your basket. Every week, we sell around 150 baskets between 15 and 30 euros”explains the young Montpellier resident.
