The voting instructions to block the RN are not respected by Together! and the Nupes, while the second round of the legislative elections must take place on Sunday June 19.
For the second round of the legislative elections of June 2022, there are on the one hand the national instructions which come from the staffs parties and their application on the ground. The national instructions are in two words to give no voice to the National Rally of Marine Le Pen. But on the ground, it’s much more nuanced. Of 61 duels in the second round between candidates from Nupes and RN, 38 of the Macronist candidates beaten in the first round did not give any voting instructions.
Conversely, out of 108 duels between the RN and Ensemble!, 42 Nupes candidates did not give instructions. This indiscipline in the ranks could affect the results of the ballot, which is to take place on Sunday June 19. The stakes are high, while the face of Emmanuel Macron’s second five-year term is being played out, explains France Télévisions journalist Julien Nény.
