Emmanuel Macron is on board a train to kyiv in Ukraine, confirms Thursday, June 16 the journalist from France Inter present on board.

This is a sleeper train of the Ukrainian Railway Company. This train left the Polish border overnight from Wednesday to Thursday at midnight local time. The Head of State is accompanied by German Chancellor Olaf Scholz and Italian Prime Minister Mario Draghi.
According to the France Inter journalist present on board, the train is approaching with the kyiv station as its terminus. This visit, mentioned several times, has constantly been postponed. These three European leaders are among the last to visit Ukraine. Emmanuel Macron went to kyiv on February 8, before the start of the war, declared on February 24.
The objective is therefore, beyond the long-awaited handshake with the Ukrainian President, to make progress on Ukraine’s application for membership of the European Union. It may also be a question of announcing new arms deliveries, indicates the journalist from France Inter.
