an impressive fire in Crolles, an agricultural building almost completely destroyed

A fire broke out around half past midnight on the night of Tuesday to Wednesday in Crolles, in Grésivaudan (Isère). It was a 1,500 square meter agricultural building that caught fire, with agricultural machinery and straw bales inside. But part of the building was preserved thanks to the intervention of the firefighters, who deployed significant means to extinguish it, in particular a water lance installed on an aerial ladder.

Water was also drawn from Lake Montfort, 500 meters from the place of intervention, to avoid overusing the town’s drinking water.

The fire is now out but firefighters were still on site Wednesday morning.
