The international window begins against South Korea on June 26 at BMO Field in Toronto.

Prestigious forward Christine Sinclair will serve as captain. She will start the game against South Korea with 188 international goals, the highest tally of any gender.

Quebec forward, Évelyne Viens, returns to the team after being left out during the last window. She has scored eight goals in 14 games with Swedish club Kristianstads this season.

Kadeisha Buchanan, who recently won the UEFA Champions League with Lyon before joining compatriot Jesse Flemming at Chelsea in England, will be the centerpiece.

This will be the first window in which star goaltender Stephanie Labbé will not take part. She hung up her cleats in April.

The Maple Leaf has a 7-1-0 record against South Korea since the turn of the 21st century. In the last encounter in March 2018, as part of the Algarve Cup final, the Canadians prevailed 3-0.

“We’re thrilled to have another game in front of our fans and allow many Toronto-area players to play at home for the first time in a long time,” said Priestman. The June window will be used to select the final roster of 23 players and allow us to work on ourselves for an important tournament this summer.

“South Korea will be a great test. »
