If you go towards Castelnau-Pégayrols, you are very likely to come across an unusual machine. A “bike” that could well become the car of tomorrow. The “bicycle” is not a car, nor a bicycle. But it combines the advantages of both. On a 4-wheel chassis, with a windshield to protect you from the wind, you sit on a bench seat and press a pedal associated with an assistance battery. The “bicycle” may be rustic, but it has the advantage of not being expensive to produce and of not polluting at all. It’s no more, no less than an electrically assisted pedal car. The couple who invented the “Véloto” hope to convince a large number of road users for a softer and more environmentally friendly mobility.
The Véloto is not the only electric car with pedals, the start-up Midipile is also launching an electric quadricycle that looks like a car.
