For almost twenty years now, Mr. Pokora has been present in the French musical and media sphere. A longevity that the singer and husband of Christina Milian did not fail to mention on his social networks: “August 2003, that’s how we met… I was 17 and I was an unknown in the middle of 15,000 applicants… So half my life, I have passed before your eyes… I went from adolescent to adult before your eyes, passed from artist to father before your eyes… 17 years of career is a long marathon”, had written Mr. Pokora on Instagram. A longevity that he owes in large part to his still loyal fans!

But before becoming the great artist that we know, Mr. Pokora first went through square one. We are in 2003 in season 3 of pop stars on M6. The then 17-year-old young man is not yet called Mr. Pokora but Matthieu Tota (his real name). Having just come from Strasbourg, where he is from, the future member of the group linkup shows up at one of his first castings and takes back the title Killing Me Softly With His Song of the group refugees.
A delicious archive that his wife Christina shared in her Instagram story, certainly making fun (kindly) of her husband’s French accent but not a little proud of the latter’s journey. “My baby with his awesome French accent probably couldn’t understand the lyrics. Lol. Jokes aside it’s amazing how far he’s come from. I would have been so nervous to audition for this kind of show and competition. Very little for me. Well done baby. You worked for this and look at yourself today!”, she wrote in the caption of the video in support of the father of her two children, Isaiah and Kenna and his brilliant career! By living in the United States with his beautiful wife, Mr. Pokora’s level of English has improved significantly.
