There are so many varieties of aromatic plants and Roland Motte has some very original ones to show you.
Create your bed of aromatic plants, there are so many different varieties!
Think of the classic aromatics: parsley, chives, thyme, rosemary, sage, oregano… but don’t neglect the more original aromatics such as coriander with a powerful scent, fennel with anise flavors, chives with a good taste of shallots, sorrel with a tangy flavor that we love with fish or even celery. But there are also those, very original, those that will bring us even more unexpected flavors. This is the case of wild garlic with a garlic taste, Mertensia maritima, also called the oyster plant which has a real taste of the tide, borage, another aromatic with an iodized taste, or even nettle.
To plant them is very easy and in addition, they are rarely sick. A corner of the garden, a pot, mulch, a watering can. Make sure of their needs in light, partial shade or sun, in water, little or a lot, in quality of soil, garden soil or compost, you can only succeed in your plantations.
They are not only decorative and often melliferous, but they will above all be assets to enhance your recipes. In the kitchen, the real secret of these easy plants is to taste them raw immediately after picking. It is the guarantee of having flavors and fragrances that will sublimate all your dishes.
