His rallying was announced on the second day of the inaugural tournament in London, the first of eight meetings scheduled this year by the LIV.

With 25 million dollars in prize money for each of its tournaments, the LIV, financially supported by Saudi Arabia, far exceeds the bonuses at stake on the US PGA Tour, which organizes a large part of professional golf.

“Bryson DeChambeau is a promising addition to the boosted style of play in the LIV league of golf,” commented golf legend and dissident league boss Greg Norman. “He is passionate about our sport, innovative in his approach and keen to push the limits in his quest for excellence,” he added.

At 28, DeChambeau currently occupies the 28e world rank. He has won ten tournaments since his debut on the professional circuit.

He should be removed from the lists of the US PGA Tour, which announced Thursday the suspension of 17 golfers registered for the inaugural tournament of the LIV Tour held at the course in St. Albans, north London, and warned that anyone who joins this dissident league would expose itself to the same consequences.
