A dance teacher from the South Shore accused of sexual assault

A dance teacher is facing charges of sexual assault of a minor, invitation to sexual touching and sexual exploitation while in a position of authority over a student.

Investigators from the Roussillon Intermunicipal Police Board arrested Patrick Charron, 33, last Thursday.

The actions of which he is accused were said to have taken place in the cities of Saint-Constant, Bromont and Sainte-Catherine, between 2015 and 2018, while Mr. Charron was teaching dance at Studio District 21, in Saint-Constant.

The suspect appeared Thursday by videoconference in the district of Longueuil.

Mr. Charron was released on several conditions aimed at protecting the victims, their families and the public.

The investigation into his actions continues, while the authorities suspect that there could be other victims.
