“He could die”: Pierre Ménès accused of sexual assault, he is absent from court for health reasons

Pierre Ménès is accused of alleged sexual assault against a hostess at the Parc des Princes and two sales assistants from a Nike store. However, the sports consultant did not go to the courtroom of the Paris Judicial Court, organized on Wednesday June 8, 2022. “He is seriously ill, he will not be present at the hearing“, therefore explained Me Wasserman, his lawyer, as he entered.

Three weeks ago he was in a coma

In 2016, Pierre Ménès received a terrible diagnosis: NASH, ie non-alcoholic fatty liver disease. He had received an emergency liver and kidney transplant and had to be bedridden for 25 days. It is not known whether these facts are linked to his absence from the Paris Court of Justice, but his state of health does not seem to be improving. On learning that the trial was postponed to March 8, 2023, because of an undercalibrated hearing, which left only about sixty minutes for the examination of the case, the man of laws affirmed – according to The Team -: “He couldn’t get any better. Three weeks ago he was in a coma. He might even die. It’s going to go from bad to worse. This postponement will be detrimental to his health.”

I’ve been silent for six months

Dying or not, Pierre Ménès gave his testimony to the newspaper The Parisian, the day after this verdict indicating a postponement of the hearing. As since the beginning of the case, the journalist denies the accusations that target him. “It’s been six months that the suspicion is on me, he recalls. And six months that I am silent. And there, I resume for a year. Meanwhile, slander and lies may continue to spread, on social media and elsewhere. Professionally, it hurts me, because my image is tarnished. What is unfortunate is that the court did not take this into account..”

As for his state of health, and his absence from court related to this situation, Pierre Ménès provided some clarifications. He would have spent three weeks in intensive care and would have been released four weeks ago. He reportedly suffered from a systemic infection that affected his heart, kidneys, lungs and brain, and had to undergo MRIs, CT scans, colonoscopies and other kidney biopsies. “Doctors still not sure what I have“, he simply added. The situation could still stabilize by the beginning of next year.

Pierre Ménès remains presumed innocent of the facts of which he is accused until the final judgment of this case.
